What to Expect in Therapy
When entering therapy, it is common to question how beneficial or what would be gained from talking to a stranger. Therapy begins with a problem, concern, or issue that has become overwhelming or unmanageable.
Within therapy, you can expect me to be inviting, caring and welcoming to discuss any issue or issues that has led to you experiencing emotional discomfort in life. In therapy, I do not judge but encourage you to participate by identifying your locus of pain or discomfort, ways this discomfort has affected you within your life and what you are willing to do differently to take charge of your life. Once we have identified and discussed the cause of you seeking therapy, we will explore together your strengths, abilities and social as well as family resources you can use to reach the desired emotional goal.
What makes my therapy and approach unique is I encourage you to explore your presenting concern or issue within a safe, friendly and nurturing environment where I do not tell you how you should feel or what to believe.
